Position Description: SunCoast Blood Centers is looking for a driver that delivers and picks-up blood, blood product, samples and supplies.
Department: Product Manufacturing
Hours/Shift: 12pm -8pm Varied Days as needed for Dept needs
Education: High School or equivalent
Licensure: Current drivers license in good standing;
Experience:
- 2 years general work experience.
- 5 years driving experience; prefer mechanical background
Essential Functions:
- Assembles and loads items for delivery and pick up.
- Delivers and picks-up blood, blood products and samples as directed.
- Delivers and picks-up supplies, equipment and other miscellaneous items to blood bank fixed locations or mobile sites.
- Assures that delivery vehicles are operational. Reports malfunction to director.
- Maintains clean, safe and organized work environment.

Position: RECEPTIONIST
Position Description: Greets and Registers all catergories of blood donors and patients. Performs front desk reception duties.
Department: DONOR SERVICES
Hours/Shift: Part-Time; 20 hrs. /week; Mon-Sat business hrs as needed to meet departmental needs.
Education: High school or equivalent experience
Licensure: None
Experience: 2 years reception, clerical or other customer service experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary Work - Sitting for extended periods with occasional walking and/or standing. Occasionally exerting up to 20 lbs. of force to lift or move objects.
Essential Functions: SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Greets donors, patients, visitors and vendors. Evaluates and handles customer needs or refers to the appropriate staff member.
- Registers all categories of donors and patients.
- Performs department clerical and data entry functions.
- Oversees activities of volunteers assigned to the reception area.
- Maintains waiting room and canteen areas.
- Monitors and maintains inventory of reception area office supplies and materials. Reports inventory levels to manager.
- Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Position Description: SunCoast Blood Centers is looking for a Supply Chain Courier that is responsible for the delivery of supplies from the warehouse to blood bank facilities.
Department: Supply Chain
Hours/Shift: Monday – Friday 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Hours may vary)
Education: High school or equivalent experience
Licensure: Class E driver license in good standing
Experience: 2 years general work experience; plus
2 years driving experience; prefer mechanical background
- Physical Requirements: Heavy Work - Walking and/or driving for extended periods of time with occasional sitting. Frequently exerting between 20-60 lbs. of force to lift or move objects.
Essential Functions: Responsible for the delivery of supplies from the warehouse to blood Center facilities.
- Pulls items from warehouse to fill department supply requisitions. Loads and delivers to blood bank department and facilities.
- As directed, pulls appropriate level of bloodmobile supplies, and delivers to bloodmobile staging areas.
- Assesses bloodmobile staging area supply inventory. Reports inventory levels to supervisor.
- Organizes bloodmobile staging area supplies to assure appropriate inventory rotation.
- Delivers and picks-up blood products, samples, equipment and other miscellaneous items as needed.
- Assures the delivery vehicle is operational. Reports malfunction to supervisor.
- Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment.

QA Specialist
Position: QA Specialist
Position Description: Performs duties in all areas of the quality assurance program, including but not limited to error management, document control, lookback activities and auditing.
Department: Administration
Hours/Shift: Full-Time. Regular business hours and as needed to meet organization needs
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent experience
Licensure: None; prefer Medical Technology in all areas
Experience: 3 years blood bank production or clinical laboratory; plus
2 years medical administration or other medically related experience
Essential Functions:
- Conducts internal audits and ensures follow-up corrective action. Acts as a liaison for external inspections.
- Coordinates and performs product lookback activities, including monitoring of daily quarantine reports. Maintains donor deferral notification records and letters.
- Performs document management activities and Form control. Writes or revises Standard Operating Procedures as assigned.
- Maintains, orders and distributes Donor ID Numbers (DINs), product labels and O Reports.
- Acts as the contact person for CE Broker, including the provision of CEU credits for continuing education activities.
- Oversees the Critical Equipment and Critical Suppliers lists and directs bi-annual supplier qualification.
- Monitors the Self-Exclusion Hotline, including follow-up activities as needed.
- Performs contract management and maintains the contract database.
- Assists with the Error Management and Donor Adverse Reactions databases, including follow-up investigations.
- Writes and performs validation activities prior to implementation of new processes, equipment or software version updates.
- Acts as a back-up to the QA Director, including completion of special projects as assigned.
- Participates in activities to further professional development. Accepts speaking engagements.

Experience: 1 year donor phlebotomy required; PLUS 1 year phlebotomy, medical, customer service or other equivalent experience. Completion of phlebotomy training program considered in lieu of phlebotomy experience.

- Utilizes assigned donor list to contact and recruit volunteer blood donors including face to face contact during donation as possible.

- Ensures that each donor is scheduled at the appropriate fixed site and at the appropriate donation interval.
- Returns calls from the donors responding to recruitment calls.
- Maintains and updates database of volunteer blood donors.
- Meets established recruitment goals and standards
- Assists the telerecruitment supervisor with various recruitment and donor retention programs as assigned.
- Responds to calls for assistance with the donor portal and rewards store as assigned.
- Provides clerical and administrative support for the telerecruitment team.
- Maintains a clean, safe and organized work environment.
