Suncoast Communities Blood Bank (SCBB), is pleased to offer the educational program “My Blood, Your Blood”(MBYB) to fifth grade students. SCBB serves Sarasota, Charlotte and Desoto counties including Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Doctors Hospital, and Desoto Memorial Hospital. Presenters of the program are individuals who are specially trained to present the information.

The “My Blood, Your Blood” program was developed by a national team of scientists, physicians and educators for presentation to fifth grade students. It consists of a 27 minute video, handout materials, and a short question and answer session. The entire program can be presented in one class period or can be supplemented with additional material by the teachers for a more comprehensive program. 

The video was developed by the national organization “America’s Blood Centers” and is informative, instructional, and entertaining.
